Why Do People Struggle with Truth? A Soul-Level Exploration

Disconnection from one's soul can contribute to a lack of belief in the importance of truth.

Why Do People Struggle with Truth? A Soul-Level Exploration

In a world flooded with noise, distraction, and performance, truth can often feel like a luxury… or even a threat. But why is this the case? Why do so many people struggle with connecting to what is real, what is honest, and what is soul-aligned?

The answer goes deeper than just psychology or circumstance. It touches the very core of who we are.

The Missing Value of Truth

For many, the importance of truth simply wasn’t taught. If you grew up in an environment where honesty was punished, ignored, or overshadowed by fear, you may have learned to prioritise safety over truthfulness. In these cases, survival mechanisms override authenticity.

Others may place more value on personal gain, reputation, or fitting in… choosing to withhold or distort the truth to maintain comfort, approval, or power.

Truth, in this light, becomes optional. Or even dangerous.

The Spiritual Disconnection Behind Dishonesty

One of the deeper reasons we disconnect from truth is a disconnection from our soul.

When we lose touch with our inner guidance… our sense of divine alignment… we become far more susceptible to external noise: societal pressures, inherited beliefs, fear of judgment. The soul is the compass that steers us toward truth. When we’re not in touch with it, we drift.

Symptoms of this disconnection may include:

  • A sense of emptiness or emotional numbness

  • Lack of meaning or purpose in life

  • Low self-worth or deep self-doubt

  • Difficulty forming authentic, heart-centred relationships

  • Chronic feelings of isolation or discontent

These are not just emotional issues. They’re spiritual signals.

The Higher Self and the Truth Frequency

In many spiritual traditions, the Higher Self is the aspect of us most connected to divine truth. When you’re aligned with your Higher Self, you’re more likely to:

  • Recognise truth instinctively

  • Access deeper intuition and inner wisdom

  • Navigate life from clarity rather than confusion

  • Resist manipulation or conformity

Without that connection, it’s easy to fall into apathy, fear, or avoidance. We become overwhelmed by the sheer weight of what’s “wrong” with the world and numb ourselves as a result.

Why Some People Avoid the Truth

Let’s be real… truth can hurt. It can dismantle belief systems. It can expose wounds. It can demand radical change.

That’s why many people avoid it altogether.

Here are some of the most common reasons people disconnect from truth:

  • Fear: Facing reality might challenge our identity or sense of safety.

  • Apathy: A belief that “truth doesn’t matter” or “nothing will change anyway.”

  • Conformity: Societal conditioning that discourages independent thought or spiritual inquiry.

  • Control: Systems of power often suppress truth to maintain influence.

But avoidance comes at a cost. When we reject truth, we also reject the soul—and, ultimately, ourselves.

Reconnecting with the Truth: Practices That Work

The journey back to truth begins within. It’s not about external validation, but internal revelation.

Here are a few soul-led practices to support your reconnection:

1. Meditation and Stillness

Silence helps you hear the voice beneath the noise… the whisper of your soul. Regular meditation invites truth back into the room.

2. Shadow Work and Emotional Honesty

The ego resists truth by creating drama, illusion, or distraction. When we face our shadow, we dissolve these patterns.

3. Affirmative Voice Practices

Personally, I use voice-activated alignment practices. For example, I speak phrases like:

  • “Love I AM.”

  • “Divine Plan, Aligned I AM.”

These aren’t just affirmations—they’re activations. Words carry power when they come from the soul.

4. Self-Inquiry and Journaling

Ask yourself:

  • What truth am I avoiding?

  • Where am I seeking comfort over clarity?

  • What does my soul know that I’ve forgotten?

5. Reconnect with Soul-Aligned Teachings

If you’re looking for deeper guidance, my book and workbook My Ecstatic Rebirth is a practical map for soul reconnection. It offers step-by-step inner work to help you return to your essence.

The Path to Inner Truth Is Worth It

Yes, the path back to truth takes time. Yes, it asks you to feel things you’ve long buried. But it’s also the only path that leads to freedom. Real freedom. Soul freedom.

When you’re reconnected to your soul and your Higher Self, you stop chasing approval. You stop pretending. You start living.

Because truth is not just something we speak—it’s something we become.
